There is something pretty special about filling a beautifully restored Gem Detroit theater with all the people you love, especially when many of them traveled all the way from Texas and Oklahoma to celebrate with you. Erica and Taryn’s summer wedding at the Gem Theatre was equal parts elegant, emotional, and ridiculously fun. Their first look in the balcony gave us all the feels before they headed downstairs for a dramatic ceremony surrounded by family and friends. The historic theater, glowing summer light, and unmistakable energy of downtown Detroit gave their love story a setting worthy of the big screen.
Once the vows were official, everyone was ready to celebrate. The food was incredible, the speeches were heartfelt, and the dance floor quickly proved that Texas and Oklahoma know how to party in Detroit. Through every laugh, happy tear, hug, and questionable late night dance move, it was impossible to miss how deeply Erica and Taryn are loved by their people. Their families and friends truly showed up for them in every possible way, creating a celebration that felt intimate even inside a grand historic theater. It was joyful, stylish, wonderfully personal, and one of those wedding days we were genuinely sad to see end.
