Sophie and Victor’s wedding was pure theater in the best possible way. Set entirely inside the newly restored Bonstelle Playhouse in Detroit’s Midtown neighborhood, their day was filled with elegance, drama and moments that felt straight out of a classic film. The morning began at the beautiful AC Hotel next door, where final details were fluffed, ties were tied and nerves turned into excitement. From there, guests gathered under the red velvet curtain of the historic stage for a ceremony that was as meaningful as it was cinematic. Every detail of the venue’s restoration became part of the story; vaulted ceilings, ornate architecture, and rich textures that made every moment feel larger than life.
As cocktail hour unfolded, we photographed the couple throughout the playhouse, capturing their joy against one stunning backdrop after another. Once the reception began, the party didn’t hold back. Guests cut into the cake and hit the dance floor—yes, the actual stage—where music, laughter and confetti filled the room. Sophie and Victor shared their first dance beneath the lifted curtain, surrounded by cheers and all the people they love most. Hats off to the Bonstelle staff and leadership who made this newly reopened gem shine so bright.
